Tayiba Institute's Islamic Academy Program is a full-time Islamic Studies program and is the introduction to the seven years multi disciplinary program (Traditional Alim course). The purpose of this course is to provide students with intensive basic Islamic Studies which will give them an academic working knowledge of Ilme-Deen.  Centered around an in-depth study of the traditional Islamic sciences, the program’s format and curriculum provide students a foundation in the rich scholastic tradition of Islam together with the intellectual tools and understanding to effectively engage western society and thought.
The three years academic Program began in July 2004 and is ending in its third and final year with four dynamic students. The three years program was initiated to assist with the refinement of the Seminary’s curriculum, administrative structure, and strategic development and to begin the important training, tayiba institute has to offer. Students not only benefit from intense study of the core Islamic sciences and their classical texts with respected Muslim scholars, but they are also helping to lay the foundation for Tayiba institute.

APPLICATION DETAILS

  • Applicants must submit their completed application form and two reference letters from their previous teachers and community leaders.
  • Applications must be received on or by 15th march, 2008.
  • Applicants will receive an initial response by 20th March.  Applicants under further consideration will be contacted for phone interviews and further review.
  • Final selections will be made by 26th March.

Student requirements:

  • High school graduate (University experience preferred) Focused, with a strong work ethic

  • Hafiz of Quran preferred

3 Year Alim Course Fee

It is very important to understand that Tayiba institute is a non-profit organisation, not a business. The fees charged represent the cost incurred to employ a qualified ALIM, Hafiz of Quran and part-time administration staff. Many of the teachers work voluntarily. Other running expenses also need to be covered: gas, electricity, etc. Any excess funds will be invested in the further development of the institute.

Overseas & Local Students:

Registration fee (Only for oversease students and non-refundable).................................................... A$ 50

Tuition fees................................................... A$ 1000/ year

  • Students will be responsible for their own personal expenses (housing, food, transportation, etc.).

  • Some course texts and supplementary educational materials will be provided by Tayiba Institute.

Student Accommodations

  • Housing: Students must make their own housing arrangements. 

  • Upon request, Tayiba Institute can assist in matching up students to share rentals.   
           
    Primary instructors will be Shaykh Riyad Ahmad Tahir and Shaykh Muhammad Abdul Wahid. Supplementary instruction by Ustaz Riyad Asvat and others.

Subject 1: Arabic Qawa’id and Usul

  • Sarf (morphology): Minhaj Us Sarf   by Professor Nawaz Zafar

  • Nahwu (grammar): Minhaj un Nahwu by Mufti Muhammad Khan Qadri

  • Arabic Conversation Tasheelul Insh’a (V 1 & V 2) by Allama Akram Azhari and Allama Saeed Azhari

 Subject 2: Quranic Studies

  • Usul Al Tafseer: Al Fawzul Kabeer Fi Usul Al Tafseer by Shah Wali Allah, Zubda Tul Itiqaan by Shaykh Muhammad Alwi Malaki and Al Iti Qaan Fi Ulum al Quran by Allama Jalal Al Deen Sayuti

  • Tareekh Tafseer (History of  Exegesis)

  • Tafseer Al Quran (Selected Surahs): Al-Ahzab, Al-Fath, Al-Hujurat, Ya-Seen, Al-Mulk Al-Waqi’ah, Al-Muzzammmil, Al-Baqarah, An-Nisa’, An-Nur, Al-Fatiha and Juz Amma.

  • Tahfeez Al Surah (Memorization of selected Surahs): Yasin, Mulk, Last half of Juz Amma and Muzzammil.

How to enrol

  1. Complete the student enrolment form and send it with non-refundable enrolment fee of $50.00. (Oversease students only)
  2. As part of the enrolment, families will be required to supply a certified copy of the student’s most recent school report and a certified copy of the student’s Birth Certificate or Passport (if overseas student).
  3. After initial assessment, students will be invited for an interview.  Interviews may be conducted in person or over the telephone (if overseas).
  4. Successful candidates will be sent a formal letter of acceptance and an application for accommodation.
  5. Overseas students requiring a Letter of Acceptance for Student Visa purposes will need to send payment for the first terms fees and medical insurance.
  6. Two reference letters from previous teachers and community leaders
 

PRESENTATION DAY

The end of this years (2005) Weekend School was celebrated with a Presentation Day.  Students that excelled in Quran, Islamic Studies and Arabic Language were rewarded with certificates of achievement and presents.  The junior Islamic Studies class entertained everyone with the songs: La Illaha Ila Allah and Sing, Children of the World.  Thank you to all the Mums that cooked the cakes and sweets.
