Tayiba Institute is an educational project of the Islamic Association of Australia (I.A.A.). The Institute focuses on the revival of the traditional Islamic education system.  I.A.A. is registered with Australian government as a non-profit organisation and has the status of an income tax-exempt, charitable organisation.

Our Arabic language courses (from kinder to year 12) are accredited and approved by the Department of Education of Victoria, Australia. Tayiba Institute has also been successfully running it’s full-time School of Islamic Studies.

We are also running a separate department for Tahfeez-ul-Quran for the last 4 years and looking forward to the fifth year—2007. At present there are about 35 students enrolled in Tahfeez-ul-Quran.

We set out on this project with virtually no material base, depending on the bounty and help of Allah Subhanahu Wata’aala, Whom is our source of all hopes and help.  If you too can become a means for source of help, it can be beneficial to those who are making efforts to gain Islamic Knowledge and to live their lives according to the teaching of Al-Quran and Sunnah. “Wa aqriduu Allaha qardan hasanah...”

At present, we are running the Institute at a very small premise which has become insufficient to cope with the increasing demand.  Unfortunately, there are several students on an enrolment “waiting list” because of this.  We have a great need to buy larger premises for our Institute.

The need is urgent and immediate. An opportunity has presented to us to purchase a suitable place.   The building, located in our community, is a former Church.  It is currently for sale and we do not wish to miss this rare opportunity.

The property has several advantages:

1. It is already zoned by the local council as a “PLACE OF WORSHIP”.  As you know, in Australia, this is the greatest hurdle for the Muslim community – to get approval for its places of worship (Masjids).  Being an existing “Place of Worship”, the Council can not deny us permission.

2. The parking is ample. Another common reason for Local Council objections is lack of appropriate parking facilities. With approx. 40 car spaces and street parking.

3. Location.  The premise is located close to Dandenong – one of Melbourne’s most ethnically diverse communities.  It has a sizable Muslim population.  It is walking distance from the Railway Station – making it accessible to the wider-Melbourne population.

The purchase price of the property is approx. AU$550,000.  Whilst, our members are contributing as much as possible, and our Fundraising Committee is active in their efforts - it is far short of the requirement.  We are appealing for your generous contribution to get this noble task and project established.  We are also willing to consider QARD-E-HASSANA (soft loan). 

We are sure you have the capability to extend financial assistance towards this big and noble cause to help the Muslims in particular, and world peace and Islam in general.
