This
idea of being brought together prone of their faces, blind,
dumb, and deaf is also expressed in Surah Taha (20:124 - 125),
Surah Al-Isra' (17:72) and in Surah Al-Qamar (54:48).
For
those who are to be summoned blind are to ask their Lord as
to why they are blind. Their argument would be that they were
not blind when they were living on Earth. The answer would be:
in as much as they were blind mentally from seeing the truth
from their Lord and have rejected it, they are to be blind now
physically and physiologically. The Qur'an is explicit about
this type of dialogue between the blind people and Allah. In
Surah Taha, Allah says the following:
But
whosoever turns away from My message, verily for him is a life
narrowed down, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of
Judgment
He
will say: 'O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while
I had sight (before)?'
(God)
will say: 'Thus did you, when our signs came unto you, disregard
them: so will you, this day, be disregarded.' (Surah 20:Verse
124 - 126)
3.
People in Hell will be surrounded with yokes around their necks,
chained down with long leashes and are dragged down on their
faces. In Surah Ghafir (The Believer) Allah says:
When the yokes (shall be) round their necks, and the chains;
they shall be dragged along-in the boiling fetid fluid; then
in the Fire shall they be burned. (Surah 40:Verse 71 - 72)
One
may read more about this situation in Surah Al-Insan (The Man)
(76:4) and in Surah Al-Haqqah (Sure Reality) (69:32).
4.
People in Hell are to be beaten with maces of iron on their
heads to feel the pain and humiliation. In Surah Al-Hajj (The
Pilgrimage), Allah says the following:
In
addition there will be maces of iron (to punish) them. (Surah
22:Verse 21)
5.
People in Hell are to have special clothing: Those who deny
the existence of Allah are to have clothing of fire. In one
place in Surah Al-Hajj (Pilgrimage) the Qur'an states:
But
those who deny (their Lord), -for them will be cut out a garment
of fire. (Surah 22:Verse 19)
In
another place in Surah Ibrahim, the Qur'an states that their
clothings are from tar.
...Their garments of liquid pitch... (Surah 14:Verse 50)
6.
People of hell are to drink boiling water which is to let them
feel painful in their stomach and intestines. The pain is heavy
to the extent that their intestines are cut into pieces.
(a) The Qur'an states in Surah Muhammad the following:
(Can those in such Bliss) be compared to such as shall dwell
forever in the Fire, and be given, to drink, boiling water,
so that it cuts up their bowels (to pieces)? (Surah 47:Verse
15)
(b) In Surah Al-An'am (Cattle) Allah says: They will
have for drink (only) boiling water, and for punishment, one
most grievous: for they persisted in rejecting God. (Surah 6:Verse
70)
(c)
In Surah Ibrahim Allah says: In front of such one is Hell,
and he is given for drink, boiling fetid water. (Surah 14:Verse
16)
(d)
In Surah Younus (Jonah), Allah says: But those who reject
Him will have draughts of boiling fluids, and a penalty grievous,
because they did reject Him. (Surah 10:Verse 4)
