Now the readers can themselves see the difference of translation
of this verse Most of the translators while translating have
forgotten to remember that Allah is the knower of seen and unseen.
God forbid! The general translators have given the conception
that Allah does not know anything before its occurrence.
a.
And that on which any other name has been invoked besides that
of Allah (Abdullah Yousaf Ali).
b.
And that over which is invoked the name of any other than Allah
(Abdnl Mjid Daryabadi).
c.
And the animal that has been earmarked in the name of any other
than Allah (Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi).
HAZRAT
AHMAD RAZA
"And the animal that has been slaughtered by calling a name
other than Allah".
Now
see the difference in translation. Generally the translators
while translating these words have conveyed such meaning that
makes all lawful animals that are called by any other name than
Allah unlawful. Sometime animals are called by other names for
example, if any one calls any animal like Aqiqa animal, or valima
animal or sacrificial animal. Some time people purchase animals
for Isale-Sawab (Conveying reward of good deed to their near
and dear ones) and call them as Ghauzal Azam or Chisthi animals,
but they are slaughtered in the name of Allah only. Then all
such animals would become unlawful.
The
only befitting translation is of Ahmad Raza that conveys the
real sense of the verse. All lawful animals become unlawful
animals if they are slaughtered in any other name than Allah.
a.
O' company of jinn and men if you have power that you may
go out of the boundaries of the heavens and the earth (then
let us see) do go but you can not go out with out strength (Maulana
Ashraf Ali Thanvi).
b.
O' tribe of jinn and men if you are able to pass through the
confines of heaven and earth, pass through then you shall not
pass through except with an authority (Arberry).
Abdullah
Yousaf Ali and Maulana Abdul Mjid Darybadi have translated this
verse similarly.
In
this scientific age the boundaries of haven and earth have been
crossed. Some translators have opined that no one can cross
the boundaries. This has created doubt in the minds of the people
about this verse Hazrat Ahmad Raza translation has removed doubts
forever.
He
translates:
"0'
Company of jinn and men if you can that you may go out of the
boundaries of the heavens and the earth, then do go. Wherever
you will go, His is the Kingdom."
